Sarah Ftaya is a licensed professional counselor specializing in child and family therapy. Sarah has worked in a number of settings including schools, residential treatment facilities and community agencies. Most recently, Sarah was the primary therapist at SHARE Family & Community Services in Vancouver, British Columbia. In this role, she provided counseling for parents to help them create a safe and nurturing environment for their children. Sarah worked closely with social workers, teachers, and health care providers to ensure a multi-faceted approach totreatment.
Sarah’s approach to counseling is strength based and family centered. This means helping families identify their strengths and building upon them rather than focusing solely on what is going wrong. Sarah uses evidence based treatments in therapy and most often sees children for anxiety, depression, adhd, and behavioral challenges. Sarah’s style is open and transparent. She encourages families to be actively involved in creating and assessing their treatment goals.
Sarah works evening and weekend hours to accomodate families busy schedules.
